An amazing finish to a crazy race...
The Handicap start saw Sean Fowler leading the way, a position he held for the first 2 laps until he put himself onto the grass.
The race then became Peter Templeton, Janine Douglas, and Paul Boden.
With 3 of the 8 laps remaining, the Group 1 beasts from the rear of the field had caught the main bunch, but then there was a major change - Andy Knight’s engine overheated and the oil pressure switch shut his engine off - he was stranded on the track, and a safety car was deployed.
After the recovery the cars had bunched up, and a one lap sprint was to decide the race.
By now Templeton had lost the lead to Douglas, Boyden and Boden, but that wasn't going to remain.
At the halfway point of the final lap there was contact mid field - Steve Ross copping the worst of it and losing spots after going off the track.
Douglas lost positions at the bridge and Boyden took over the lead - and then he made a self mistake. With only 3 turns remaining, he put himself into the gravel trap, Paul Boden took over the lead but suddenly, out of nowhere, the black and gold mustang appeared.
Fogg had weaved his way through the field on the last couple of turns to somehow steal the win away from Paul Boden with Tristan Teki taking another 3rd spot for the weekend.
It was an insane finish - with Angus Fogg Racing taking another leap towards claiming the Championship.
